Insurance Adjusters Hollywood

A roof leak is a covered peril in the state of Florida. However since late 2012 Citizen Property and Casualty Insurance Company removed it from their policies as a covered peril. This means any interior damage due to a roof leak is not covered UNLESS the roof leak is related to hurricane or wind damage which is a covered peril. Most citizen policies are written this way.

Please know that many insurance companies do cover roof leaks as a covered peril. We at Cohen & Associates Public Adjusters advise you to have your public adjuster review your policy and also review your policy when your homeowner’s insurance policy expires or about to be taken over by a different insurance company. Please confirm with your public adjuster that the covered peril of roof leaks were not taken out of your policy.

It is always better to be safe than sorry.
